An excellent example of an Edwardian desk-top stationery accessory; a brass and oak letter rack. It is, in effect, a miniaturised version of a floor standing magazine rack. It can be used for cards, brochures, and letters, and would have been used on a desk in a busy Edwardian office. It retains all four of its original gilt-brass ball feet. English, early 20th century.
