Rare Victorian gimballed pocket fob compass.

Singers Patent design floating mother of pearl dial marked for

NEGRETTI & ZAMBRA LONDON

The gimbal frame is raised from the case by pulling the knurled collar ring, the transit lock is automatically released.

Polished brass hunter watch type case with push button spring release.

Paper instruction label inside the lid, “To render this compass luminous…..

Brass outer case, nickel plated brass gimbal housing, oxidized brass gimbal ring and compass bowl.

All in excellent condition and lively working order.

The dial shows insignificant losses of the black, apparent marks on the dial are the steel needle showing through the translucent material.

Outer case diameter 1,3/4? or 46mm

weight 102 grams.
