Description

Muzzle loading percussion lock carbine or musketoon,

The lock plate inscribed by the Scottish gunsmith R. Ancell Perth, 1833-1861 Perth Scotland

Ancell was the personal gunsmith of Prince Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria

High quality engraving and numerous decorative features throughout.

Powerful hammer spring cocks to two positions.

Little of the original blued surface remains but still a very presentable gun

For some reason the walnut butt has a perfect joint through the stock, behind the trigger guard, see last photo.

All in good sound condition.

Caliber 14.5mm or 9/16" / 0.55"

Barrel length 12"

Overall length 25.5"

Weight 1228 grams.
