This beautiful ANTIQUE ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE CABBAGE TUREEN bears the printed and impressed name TURNER, the VICTORIAN DESIGN REGISTRATION NUMBER 204276 (1893) and the date AD1893.
It was probably made at the Factory of G.W. TURNER & SONS, Victoria Works, Tunstall, Staffordshire Potteries.
The design was perhaps inspired by the Cabbage Tureens of the 18th Century Porcelain Manufacturers such as Chelsea or Meissen.
The green colour is particularly attractive.
There is a small, old, thin, surface chip to the curlicue of a leaf. There are no cracks or restoration.
This TUREEN displays beautifully.
