This nineteenth-century Chinese antique iron bath from 1860 follows a Qing Dynasty style as a rectangular garden planter and trough. The construction employs heavy cast iron with a textured rust brown finish and a weathered rust patina throughout the interior and exterior surfaces. Surface details include embossed relief scrollwork along the sides, four short bracket feet supporting the base, and a small drainage spout projecting from the lower front section.
