Late Georgian / early Victorian hand engraved horn cup.
Depicting a classic English fox hunt, a descending panorama, the hunt master followed by four riders chasing a pack of over 25 hounds
the fox about turns at the bottom of the hill, probably to make his escape heading to a thicket of trees and a house.
A thick walled solid horn vessel with a horn base, of strong colour and patination, light splitting and delamination, typical age related distortion to the roundness of the body, in good sound condition.
Height 4,3/4'' or 120mm, weight 118 grams.
Guaranteed old and original.
