Antique Sitzendorf Porcelain Mirror. This pretty sitzendorf shaped porcelain mirror has a oval bevelled mirror with a lovely porcelain decorated shaped frame all having pretty flowers and leaves in lovely colours having wooden back. The mirror can be stood up using the wooden stand or wall hung with the metal ring. Slight usual nibbles to some flowers and leaves.

Sitzendorf porcelain refers to ceramics produced in Thuringia, Germany, starting in the mid-19th century. Mirrors of this style were manufactured predominantly during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, taking inspiration from earlier Rococo and Meissen designs featuring elaborate floral encrustations.

These mirrors feature hand-moulded porcelain frames painted with soft enamel glazes and detailed with gilding. The floral elements were individually sculpted by hand and applied to the frame before firing, framing a central glass mirror plate.
