In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An antique industrial foundry table is a heavy-duty workbench originally designed for use in 19th and early 20th-century metal casting workshops, textile mills, or engineering plants. These tables feature durable cast iron leg bases combined with thick timber tops to withstand heavy machinery and intense physical labour.

These workbenches typically combine cast iron leg frames with thick solid timber tops, most commonly pine, oak, or elm. The metal bases were often sand-cast with cross stretchers for lateral stability, while the wood was left thick to absorb impact and support substantial weight.

Authentic industrial workbenches exhibit genuine wear, such as deep grain indentation, oil staining, saw marks, or surface patination on the timber. The cast iron legs will show manufacturing marks, foundry stamps, or structural casting seams, alongside age-consistent oxidisation rather than modern powder coating.

An industrial foundry table functions effectively as a statement console table in an entryway, a kitchen island preparation space, or a long desk in a home office. Pairing the textured timber and dark metal with refined ceramics, soft lighting, or modern artwork creates a striking contrast between raw functionality and contemporary finishes.

Clean the wooden top using a dry or slightly damp cloth, applying a clear beeswax polish periodically to nourish the timber and retain the surface patina. Protect the cast iron legs from excessive dampness to prevent rust formation, applying light mineral oil or wax if necessary to preserve the oxidised metal finish.
