Exceptional Japanese Meiji period Export bamboo walking stick, circa 1900.
Intricately carved with a continuous complex scene of four ferocious Samurai warriors in a rocky landscape.
Just below the handle, a typical Japanese visual joke, a rat peeping head and tail out of his burrow.
The handle formed from the root ball, the decoration stained and lightly coloured.
In excellent sound condition with no damage or repair.
Diameter of bamboo handle 1,3/4'' or 44mm
Diameter of shaft below handle 1,1/4'' or 32mm
Length 35,3/8'' or 90cm
