Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
Very clear hallmarks are visible on these edges for 9 carat gold (375) with marks for the Birmingham Assay Office and a date mark of 1903. The book is solidly bound and none of the pages are missing. Gold leaf surrounds all of the page edges. Inside the book is lovely and clean with an image of Christ and a hand written message.

A beautiful prayer book!

Printers marks: The printer's name is clearly visible for Oxford: Horace Hart, Printer to the University.
