a Fine Late 19th Century Cast Iron Stick Stand.

I have always been attracted to fine quality Victorian cast iron, so when this Late 19th Century example was offered to us, I felt compelled to buy it, and return it to its former glory. We removed the many layers of household paint that obscured the fine casting and exuberant Victorian design, and sensitively burnished and lacquered its surface. Now after sensitive restoration this stand is ready to enhance your home for many generations to come. The lozenge mark on its reverse was used as a patent registry mark between 1842 - 1883 - the date letter is rather worn but experience tells me that this stand would sit comfortably within the last five years of that period.
