Inlaid with mirror and tinsel backed glass panels, one inscribed Xmas 1909
Pierced with hearts, chip carved edges and steam bent hinge.
Retaing/ restricting shaft with sliding captive ball.
Made and given as thank you gifts from the striking miners to people who supported their strikes by donating money, part of the Welsh love spoon folk art tradition.
A rare example guaranteed genuine and of that date.
Length 5,1/8'' or 130nn, weight 14 grams.
In very good sound condition with no damage or repair, noting aging to the glass panel decoration.
