Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Regency drop-leaf occasional table is a piece of early 19th-century British furniture designed with hinged flaps that expand the tabletop surface area when needed and fold down for compact storage.

Cabinetmakers during the Regency era frequently utilised native and imported hardwoods, featuring fine veneers such as burr oak, pollard oak, rosewood, and mahogany, often accented with brass fittings, stringing, and castors.

Authentic Regency pieces usually exhibit Classical Greek and Roman design motifs, such as lyre-shaped end supports, reeded or saber legs, brass castors, and precise hand-cut dovetail drawer joints.

A Regency drop-leaf table works effectively as a side table beside modern upholstered seating, positioned within a bay window, or placed in an entryway as a decorative accent table.

To care for antique burr oak veneer, dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, apply a high-grade beeswax polish sparingly along the wood grain, and keep the table away from direct sunlight and central heating radiators.
