Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Stoneware flagons were heavy-duty liquid storage containers used during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries to transport liquids such as spirits, cider, and beer from local merchants or breweries directly to domestic consumers.

These vessels were crafted from dense clay fired at high temperatures to create a non-porous ceramic body, frequently finished with a salt glaze or lead glaze to enhance durability and waterproof properties.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit minor glaze imperfections, incised or stamped typography referencing specific merchants or cities, a heavy tactile weight, and natural wear around the base and handle joints.

A stoneware flagon can be used as a standalone sculptural accent on a kitchen island, inside a disused fireplace hearth, or alongside contemporary pottery on open shelving to add visual depth and historic character.

Clean stoneware using warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft cloth, avoiding harsh abrasive chemicals or scrubbers that could scratch the glaze or damage original stamped lettering.
