Large late Victorian Swiss Black Forest Terrier desk tidy / box, circa 1900
A charming character, fluently carved in solid walnut with fine details.
Mid brown glass eyes, brown leather collar.
The head lifts to access the brass bowl inside.
It''s use unclear, a desk tidy or smokers companion, certainly a bold variation on the more commonly found and smaller inkwells.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair.
Height 4,3/4'' or 120mm, weight 377 grams.
