A large and bold censor in lotus form by the Imperial artist MAKAZU KOZAN .
Regarded as the most eminent of the 19th C. Japanese potters , this is a most unusual and well designed censor by him.
The ground colour is a deep cobalt blue , the lotus leaves in lime green . the last image shows a better colour image .
The hardwood lid is original and of the finest quality carving .
It is in wonderful perfect condition throughout ,
Signed with a MAKAZU KOZAN seal for 1910 .
