Description

Japanese Meiji period inro, circa 1890

Black lacquer ground with raised gilt, mother of pearl and bone.

Now converted from a lidded five section to a lidded single section,

the lower five sections now glued together to form one large section.

In good sound condition, some cracking and losses on the top of the lid.

Height 3,1/2" or 88mm, weight 78 grams.
