European carved ivory paper knife / page turner, circa 1890

The finely carved handle a standing figure of Giuseppe Maria Garibaldi the Italian general, patriot, and republican. An internationally famous, romantic, figurehead for national independance and republican ideals. His military leadership contributed significantly to the unification and creation of the united kingdom of Italy.

In very good sound condition with minimal damage, the end of the sword cracked and glued to the base, part of the sword handle possibly missing.

Length 10,3/4" or 262mm, weight 44 grams.
