Description

Decorative boxed fan, the silk leaf painted with central fan shaped vignette of 18th century figures meeting in a garden, signed Poutnel, probably French, circa 1900

Smaller vignettes painted with musical instruments and classical fountains, all blue ribbon tied with scrolling leaves.

The borders highlighted with gold sequins, the ribbons with blue.

The bone sticks scroll and floral engraved and painted.

Length closed 8,1/2" or 215mm, weight 54 grams.

Some minimal sequin losses otherwise in excellent sound condition with no damage or repair.

Silk covered J. Duvelleroy retail box, the silk outer covering fraying, otherwise good and sound.
