Chinese Export 'thousand faces' boxed fan, circa 1850.

High quality double sided fan with gilt painted black lacquer wooden sticks and guards.

The two paper leaves hand painted with figures in garden room setting, different pictures each side.

The figures with applied faces and silk clothes.

Good squeeky tight fan with insignificant wear and repair.

The original tight sound fitted box with only light surface and corner wear.

Length of fan closed 11" or 280mm.

Weight of fan 81 grams.

Gross weight 292 grams.
