A truly wonderful example of a Victorian full-size mahogany easel, dating from the last quarter of the 19th century, comprised of two simple uprights with two later pegs that can be set at 13.5cm intervals to adjust the display height. The angle of display can also be adjusted by shortening or lengthening the chain where it's attached to the rear support leg. This display easel can also be used as an artist's easel. It retains its original untouched finish with a rich colour and a glowing patination. When folded flat for storage it is only 5cms deep x 197cms x 105cms. English, c.1880s/c.1890s.
