Robert Bush Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
It measures 5 1/2" (14 cms) x just under 3" (7.5 cms) wide and has stunning silver and gold pique work going from left to right at the top and bottom, plus a large swag of pique near to the top with 2 gold panels that are blank and therefore could be engraved.
The edging is in brass and it opens with a sprung catch which works perfectly and all round this is a most attractive cigar case.

There has been no damage at all and I can find no marks or scratches or other defects. The tortoiseshell shines brightly and the silver and gold pique is just stunning.
