Queen Mary Cunard White Star Line Working Model Ship

1920 - 1940
Description

This large model was hand made in 1940 by Captain George Gascoyne Ommanney RFC (Royal Flight Corps).The model was designed and built to be used on water. I have photographed the description sheet which he used when displaying the model at Exhibitions. He won second place at Dorset Arts and Crafts in 1950 and 1955. Details of the motor and gearbox etc are also explained on the Sheet. We have not attempted to start the motor so do not know if it still works.

Captain Ommanney 1892-1962. The length of the model is 170 cm/ 5' 7"".
