Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

FAQs

A Delft charger is a large tin-glazed earthenware plate produced primarily in the Netherlands and England during the 17th and 18th centuries, traditionally used for display on sideboards or walls.

Traditional Delftware is crafted from a buff or pinkish earthenware body, covered with an opaque white tin-oxide glaze, and hand-painted with metallic oxide pigments, usually cobalt blue, before being fired.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit minor glaze imperfections, crazing, subtle brushwork variations, and characteristic foot rims showing the underlying earthenware body without modern hallmarks.

Antique Delft chargers can be mounted securely on walls as focal artwork or displayed on plate stands within traditional or eclectic room schemes to add historical contrast.

Antique earthenware should be kept away from direct sunlight and excessive moisture, dusted gently with a soft dry cloth, and never immersed in water or cleaned with harsh detergents due to fragile glazes.
