A very good and well carved Meiji period okimono of a family of toads by sought after artist Masanao .The colour and condition are excellent and even for the work of Masanao this is a wonderful example of netsuke carving . Single rats and single frog netsuke by him are usual , but a group of frogs is quite rare and seldom comes on the market .
