Exceptional Late Georgian Sampler By Anne Viney Dated 1837

This is a most unusual and exceptional fine needlework Sampler produced in the last year of the reign of King William IV.
 
A delightful Sampler worked by Anne Viney aged 9 years, dated 4th November 1837, as hand-stitched at the bottom of the Sampler.
 
Anne Viney’s work depicts Elijah being greeted by an angel. The following words are also charmingly hand stitched into the Sampler: “As Elijah lay and slept under a juniper tree behold then an Angel touched him and said unto him arise and eat”.
 
The surrounding edge has been beautifully hand-stitched with flowers.
 
About the Date of Manufacture: late Georgian.
 
The Sampler is in excellent condition. It is in a good quality glazed maple frame - with slight signs of wear to the corner at the back left and bottom right.
