A wonderfully carved , Meiji period , ivory tusk vase on stand . It depicts a family of monkeys eating persimmon fruit, and being disturbed by a wasp.
The depth and the skill of the carving is of the highest quality, and the large scale adds to the dramatic appearance of this excellent Okimono.
