Delightful Japanese Ivory Okimono Bijin and Child by Rakumin

Description

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality one piece Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) Ivory Okimono, depicting the charming scene of a Bijin carrying her child upon her back , the female tightly clutches the Baby's sling as he seemingly nods off to sleep, she is modelled holding an umbrella and wearing traditional Japanese robes and sandals , her hair tied up immaculately and held in place with a comb and head scarf , this one piece Okimono is artist signed to the underside in a two character signature that translates to read " Rakumin", a great addition to your Japanese works of art collection.

lovely clean used condition.
