Group Of Three Japanese Kagamibuta IVory And Mixed Metal Netsukes

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this group of three Edo period Ivory and mixed metal Kagamibuta Netsukes, the high quality mixed metal inserts depict a Samurai Archer, an Ahrat with a Dragon and Benten playing a Flute, all manufactured with the use of mixed alloys including Bronze, Shakudo, Shibuichi, Gold and Silver, the inserts slot in to their Ivory roundels, and were tied through the rear hole, more commonly used as toggles for smoking pouches, pipe sets and Inro''s during the Edo period (1603 - 1868) one of the metal inserts signed by a well known sword fitting artist Mingyoku.
