As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this charming Edo period Ivory Netsuke of a puppy Dog sat playfully over its ball, whilst looking back in a mischievous manner, his tail is curled up upon his back leg, the artist has captured in great detail the curvature of his spine, his fur is finely incised and his eyes are inset with horn, this is a very tactile, gorgeous colour and obviously well used early 19th c netsuke, the himotoshi formed at the underside of the ball. a great Netsuke to enhance your collection.
