As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this nice quality carved Meiji period Ivory Okimono of a young boy performing the Shi Shi - Mai ( lion dance ), a traditional Asian dance found that takes place in both China and Japan usually to celebrate the new year, the young boy is smiling and clearly enjoying this event, his kimono, trousers and costume are decorated throughout in great detail, the underside incised by an artist known as ''Gyokuichi.
The condition is superb throughout.
