Victorian Royal Regiment Of Artillery Officer's Full Dress Gold Threaded Sabretache Mounted On A Mahogany Polescreen

The Sabretache is of a beautiful standard pattern with gold train lace enclosing a blue cloth face bearing the gold embroidered Royal Coat of Arms, a scroll below showing “''Ubique” (which is part of the Royal Artillery’s Latin motto meaning “Everywhere” - referring to the fact that the Royal Artillery are deployed wherever in the world that the British Army is fighting), oak-leaf sprays, a gilt metal cannon of post 1874 pattern and at the bottom a tri-part gold thread scroll, “Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt” which translates as “Where Right and Glory Lead”.
 
Today, the Officers of the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery still carry identical Sabretaches when firing royal salutes or on parade at The Trooping of the Colour in London.
 
This glorious Sabretache has been framed in mahogany and then mounted on a screw slide on a polished Mahogany Pole with a Mahogany Circular Stand. It is in the same tradition as the pole screens that began to appear in the 18th century. Pole screens ar...
