Late 18th century Venetian blackamoor in the form of a gondolier. The figure in elaborately decorated tunic and stockings, standing on the prow of a gondola and supported on a cylindrical column with drapery decoration. There is wear to the polychrome lacquer decoration. The oar is a later replacement.
