As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this nice quality and very clean little Kagamibuta style Netsuke , originally used on a Tobacco pouch or smoking set, the circular cut section of ivory has been set with a Mixed metal central button , onlaid in Gold, Silver and bronze alloys and depicting a boat on a lake with a Mountainous backdrop , the button would pop out to allow the cord top pass through the single Himotoshi (hole) in the ivory Netsuke, be tied and then covered with the decorative button , a great addition or ideal starter Netsuke to form a collection.
