Great Quality Humerous Japanese IVory Toad And Terrapin Okimono By Ichimin

As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this comical but finely carved ball shaped okimono , Meiji period and depicting a group of around seven Toads clambering amongst three Terrapins, the Toads and Terrapins have been enhanced with stained black eyes , the Toads looking rather sleepy , the form is a circular one piece carved okimono with a flat bottom that houses the artists inset signature seal, signed by a netsuke artist known as ICHIMIN very tactile in the hand and size wise it is somewhere between a golf and small pool ball, a great addition to your okimono or Netsuke collection.
The condition is superb throughout.
