As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality 19th century stained ivory netsuke signed by Masamitsu , the netsuke depicts a group of seven rodents devouring a fallen fruit , the rodents eyes are inlaid with Jet and the fruit showing signs of rotting, the underside bears a nice incised two character signature that translates to read Masamitsu , a well known carver of rats and netsuke during the Meiji period
The condition is original and very tactile !
