Humerous Japanese Ivory Okimono Bird Catchers Signed

1900 - 1920
Description

As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this great fun Japanese okimono bridge of a father and son chasing down a flock of birds , the father leans forward with his bamboo cane and reaches in vain to try and corall the flock ,meanwhile the young boy is wrestling with a single bird larger than himself , the large fine quality carved tusk section is stood on its original carved hardwood base and signed to the underside with a two character signature ,typical Japanese humour captured in a great subject okimono .

The condition is lovely throughout !!
