Large Japanese Ivory and Shibayama Page Turner

1900 - 1920
Description

As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this large and super quality ivory page turner, the front of the turner is decorated in high quality Shibayama style detail depicting a multi coloured exotic bird in a prunus blossom tree , the artist has used multiple semi precious stones with significant use of coral and abalone shell , the rear of the turner sits flat on the desk but is carved in relief and depicts a duck in a lake with another coming in to land , it also bears a red seal signature , a fine quality desk accessory or cabinet piece.

The condition is outstanding !!
