A Large Japanese Edo Period IVory Horse Netsuke

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this large Japanese ivory netsuke from the late 18th or early 19th century Edo period , the larger than usual horse stands in a familier pose with its head down and its four feet adjoining at the base , the tail and mane carved in relief with the himotoshi placed at the rear , as you can see the old thick cut chunk of ivory has mellowed nicely and developed natural age lines throughout , a great early period ivory netsuke !
 
The condition is great with no damage or repairs .
