A Lovely Quality Japanese IVory Sea Shell Netsuke

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Steve Sly Japanese Works of Art

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this lovely quality Japanese ivory netsuke formed as a bunch of sea shells with a natural himotoshi , the group includes a pair of tiny clam shells that the artist has carved inside to form miniature clams dreams , the netsuke has toned a very rich mellow colour particularly to the underside , a great tactile netsuke from the late 19th century.

The condition and colour are great , i would note for complete accuracy two tiny nibbles on the inner edges of both clams dream upper shells which we have taken into account when pricing this lovely item !
