Description

Size: 2ft 6in x 1ft 8in (77 x 50cm).

Old Afghan Baluch pushti (pillow) with plain weave back.

Circa 1920.

Pushti were used as pillows or back rests, they were filled with wool or straw through a small opening to one side. This example has a simple tree of life design on a camel ground.

The back is a stripped plain weave in camel wool.

The bag is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile.

The bag has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
