An impressive milliner's block dating from c.1880/c.1910 in solid beech. It has a beautifully engineered adjustable block operated by a fully-working cast iron threaded screw mechanism. This eyecatching hat maker’s device is a highly decorative furnishing piece and would grace the top of any table in the house. The timbers – fully treated against woodworm – retain their original finish with a rich glow and a most attractive lustre shine. English, late Victorian/early 20th century.
