Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this charming little ivory okimono group ,the okimono has been nicely inlaid in a shibayama style with the use of coral and other semi precious stones and further stained detailing , the elephant is obviously part of a procession ,he has two young boys with a drum riding high in his howdah,dancing around the elephant are musicians and attendants with flags and other various instruments , the base of this one piece okimono is decorated with further inlays and a greek key type pattern , the underside is further decorated and signed with a three character mark and a red seal , we understand the signature reads Houshinsai .

The condition is great , the ivory has toned to a rich mellow colour with minor expected age lines .
