Japanese Mixed Metal Onlaid Knife And Fork Gift Set

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Japanese onlaid mixed metal knife and fork set in original gold lacquered presentation box, i suspect they were possibly a wedding or christening gift of the period , the set was manufactured by the Atkins brothers an English company working between 1853-1925 using components obtained from Japan , a very common practise during the European Japonesque movement of the late 19th century,still a delightful and unique gift for todays market !
The condition of the cutlery is heavy quality and good,the gold lacquer box has an old glue joint repaired to the underside but not really significant.(see final picture)
