Early 19th C Japanese Boxwood Tiger Netsuke Signed Kokei

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this fine Japanese wooden netsuke made in the early 19th century (Edo period) and signed by the highly coveted artist Kokei ,Kokei predominately carved the twelve animals of the zodiac although tigers were his best known subject , the tiger sits on its hind legs head turned to the side and its tail wrapped over his back , carved in a rather naive almost humerous pose in the typical style of this artist, nicely signed to the underside of his hind leg, a highly collectable and increasingly rare netsuke for your colection !!
 
The condition is great with expected age related wear from handling but no damage or repairs .
