As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this most unusual 19th century Japanese stained ivory netsuke , the subject unusually depicts an emaciated wolf hunched up and holding a human skull , the detailing of the teeth and ribs are particularly good withfurther detailed and inlaid eyes this is a very fine and extremley tactile netsuke !
The condition is great with a minor old age related hairline to the left of the wolfs face.
