As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this fantastic quality Japanese bronze and parcel gilt figure by ''MIYAO'' the most renowned maker of okimono of this type ,the finely cast bronze scholar or scribe stands resplendant in his gilt decorated attire ,the chiselling and detailing are exquisite, he holds an abacus in his right hand whilst clutching a bunch of scrolls in the other,a most charming and unusual subject stood on his original gold lacquer decorated hardwood base ,he would fit nicely into any serious collection !
The condition is fabulous with little to no wear to either the bronze or the lacquered base , a must have okimono !!
