Description

A real find; an original mid-19th century solid oak French wine rack. This double sided rack – originally used for riddling Champagne, a process by which the bottle is turned a fraction each day for many weeks – is comprised of two racks which are hinged at the top and held by an adjustable chain to alter the angle. The total storage capacity is 120. This beautiful rack, with an abundance of charm and rustic character, is French c.1850s.
