An Impressive & Original 'Chivas Regal Blended Scotch Whisky' Advertising Mirror.

This large and decoratively engraved 'Chivas Regal Blended Scotch Whisky, advertising mirror dates to the 1930's - 1940's and is in excellent condition - showing only minor areas of wear to the borders. The original fixing holes are still visible as are traces of original 'pub' varnish and paint to the pitch pine frame.

All the decoration has been achieved by working on the reverse of the glass with the beautiful engraving enhanced by application of gold leaf.

There has been no restoration carried out to the frames or the mirrored glass.

An early form of tempered hardboard is fixed to the back - tempered hardboard was first introduced in the 1940's and the corrosion of the fixings would suggest it was applied at approximately this time.
