Fine Japanese Kinchaku Purse with Kagamibuta Netsuke

1900 - 1920
Description

As part of our oriental collection we are pleased to offer this fine quality Japanese Kinchaku (coin purse) with its original kagamibuta netsuke , the purse is very finely embroidered in a Peking type of stitch , the clasp is solid silver and depicts a spray of iris , the Netsuke is formed from an ivory roundel with a solid silver inset disc again finely cast as iris , the two are joined together by way of a multi strand silver chain, the purse opens in two sections and closes tight on a clasp.

The condition is simply lovely , minor wear where the ojime rests upon the top of the purse otherwise much better than expected given its age and intended use !
